based in the czech republic, karolina ferkl is a visual artist who continually challenges the boundaries of traditional painting. while earning her degree in psychology, she found herself increasingly drawn to visual composition and the continuous process of redefining identity.

she physically embodies this evolution through ink, pastel, and raw industrial elements. treating the surface as a spatial object, she actively tears and dismantles upcycled secondhand clothing, stitching it back together to reconstruct the purest, most authentic version of herself.

by making this internal deconstruction entirely visible, the work serves as a visceral confrontation. ferkl challenges the audience to interrogate their own societal conditioning, urging the viewer toward a bolder, unapologetic state of being.
